Washing Machine Vortex

Current

Washing Machine Vortex is my new show performed as a work-in-progress:

Minge Fringe, Vagina Museum, London July 2024.

Washing Machine Vortex is a ‘greek-style’ tragedy about rediscovering the power of feminism in your 50’s. I tell the story of finding new expression post menopause whilst doing the washing for my elderly father. As the washing goes round I go on a journey through the past and discover the patriarchal routes of psychoanalysis, liberating me to love my vagina and evoke the spirit of change through the greek tragedy character of Electra!

Washing Machine Vortex creates space to think about time, ageing, memory and families using autobiography, photographic visuals and an evocative ’60’s soundtrack.

Though my shows are described as having ‘a lot of me in them’ this is my first fully autobiographic performance.
